Parkway Driving School believes in educating its clients to be the safest and the best drivers they can possibly be. We also believe in fully informing our clients about any aspect of the process they may have questions about, which is why we have created our FAQs page with commonly asked questions (and their answers) listed below.
Q. How old do I have to be to start taking classes at the Parkway Driving School?
A. You have to be at least 15 years, 9 months and 1 day old. This is a requirement of the RMV.
Q. Do I need my permit to start Driving Education Classes?
A. You do not need a permit to attend classroom instructions. However, you do need your permit for driving lessons. You will need to bring your permit to all driving lessons.
Q. What do I need to do to complete my driving education requirements?
A. 30 hours of classroom instructions, 6 hours of observation, 12 hours of driving lessons, 2 hours of parental/guardian classroom instruction.
Q. How do I schedule my driving lessons?
A. You can schedule your driving hours online by logging into the student/parent portal.
Q. Where is the pick-up and drop-off for the driving lessons?
A. You may choose your pick up location when you schedule your driving hours. We offer pick up at various convenient locations in the area.
Q. What is the $20 Driver’s Education certificate fee?
A. This is the cost to process and pay the RMV for your driver’s education certificate. You will not be sent a copy; it is electronically put on your RMV driving record.
Q. How can I schedule a road test?
A. You can schedule a road test here. We send a list to the Registry every week.
